Refund Policy
Last Updated: 2025-11-02
Overview
We aim to be transparent and fair. If you are not satisfied, you may request a refund of the unused portion of your current billing period. This policy explains what happens when a refund is processed and how to request one.
Subscription Refunds
- Refunds are processed through Stripe and return the unused portion of your current billing cycle (pro-rated).
- Refunds typically complete in 5–10 business days (bank processing times may vary).
- If you want to keep your books accessible through the end of the current period, you may cancel instead of requesting a refund.
Effect of Refund
- Your account immediately switches to Free Mode.
- All premium books are archived; your earliest book remains active on the Free plan.
- To prevent abuse, your account enters a cooldown period until the start of the next monthly billing cycle. During cooldown you cannot re-subscribe or regain premium features. This is time-based and not punitive.
EU Consumer Rights (Digital Content)
- EU consumers have a 14‑day right of withdrawal for distance contracts under EU law.
- Because digital services begin immediately, at checkout we ask you to:
- Consent to immediate access to the service, and
- Acknowledge that you lose your statutory right of withdrawal once service begins.
- We log this consent (timestamp + user ID) and include indicators in Stripe metadata for auditability.
How to Request a Refund
- Go to Settings → Billing → “Need a refund?” inside the app.
- Review the pro-rated refund amount and policy summary.
- Confirm the refund request.
Recordkeeping
- We maintain internal records of refund events (date, amount, user ID), consent logs, and cooldown timestamps for 2–5 years.

Summary (Display Version)
You may request a refund for unused subscription time at any point. Upon refund, your account will switch to Free Mode, and all premium books will be archived. To prevent refund abuse, accounts that receive a refund cannot re‑subscribe until the start of the next monthly billing cycle. For EU customers: by starting your subscription, you consent to immediate service access and acknowledge that you waive your statutory right of withdrawal once use begins.
